About the BPC team

Body Performance Clinic team is led by highly qualified physiotherapists who offer a tailored approach to your recovery and well-being. Available to treat and aid recovery of your muscle injuries. Physiotherapy used proven techniques to help restore movement and function to anyone effected by an injury, disability or health condition.

Our Physiotherapists use their in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with hands on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat clients symptoms. They can also minimise the risk of many injuries and health conditions. 

Our Physiotherapists work in collaboration with our Massage Therapy team to ensure your treatment is tailored just for you.

Principal Physiotherapists

Craig Newlands

HPSNZ PROVIDER | SPORTS MEDIC | ROWING NZ ELITE PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Craig is a three-time Olympic (London 2012, Rio 2016, Paris 2024) and Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast 2018) Physiotherapist and has travelled extensively to support athletes at many other international sporting competitions.

He spent 8 years as the lead physiotherapist for Rowing New Zealand and then split his time between Rowing New Zealand and the National Training Centre at the Avantidrome, leading the physiotherapy and massage therapy providers for the region. Craig continues to work with HPSNZ.

Craig has a Masters’ degree with a thesis on lower back pain, and has published and contributed to articles on this matter internationally.

Hamish Lockwood

HPSNZ PROVIDER | SPORTS MEDIC | PILATES TEACHER

Hamish worked in the UK for many years and there he completed his Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy. Hamish has now returned to NZ and settled in the Waikato. A former semi-professional rugby player, Hamish has experience in dealing with sports injuries, both as a player and a physiotherapist, and has a keen interest in the management of knee injuries, lower back pain and tendon pain. Hamish has completed his acupuncture training and is a APPI qualified Pilates instructor.

Areas of Interest include: Sports injury treatment and rehabilitation, Knee injuries and rehabilitation, Low back pain management, Tendon pain management.

Physiotherapists

Lucarne Dolley

PHYSIOTHERAPIST | SPORTS MEDIC

Lucarne graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from WINTEC in 2022. During her study she did a placement with BPC and we saw first hand her potential so snapped her up. She brings experience in a High Performing environment with multiple national titles in equestrian.

Lucarne is a fabulous sports medic and has supported teams in rugby, football and NZ hockey.

Aimee Burnell

PHYSIOTHERAPIST | SPORTS MEDIC | PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Aimee graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from Wintec in 2022. Since graduating she has completed her dry needling course, FIFA diploma and side line medic work with rugby and football. This year Aimee has completed her Matwork Level 1 Physio Led Pilates course. Her interest areas include sports rehabilitation and Pilates.

Aimee is currently working towards Certified Mat Pilates Instructor and teaches our Physiotherapy Led Pilates.

Helena White

PHYSIOTHERAPIST | PILATES INSTRUCTOR

Helena graduated from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2022. She began her career at Waikato Hospital, spending time in several departments there as part of their rotational programme. She has recently joined the team to broaden her knowledge in the diagnosis and management of common and not so common injuries. This year Helena has completed her Matwork Level 1 Physio Led Pilates course and teachers our Physio-led Pilates Classes.

Her special interest areas are sports rehabilitation and injuries of the upper limb.

Nicole Curtis

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Nicole graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from Auckland University of Technology in 2024.  She has sideline experience with netball, rugby, and futsal and is eager to assist with new sports. She has spent some time shadowing the physio for the Mystics netball team in their environment.

Prior to physiotherapy, Nicole worked for F45 as a coach, also completing a short course in massage therapy at university. Her interests include sports rehabilitation and optimising performance to reach sporting goals and she is striving to work with High Performance NZ.

Originally from the Eastern Bay of Plenty, she is excited to work in Cambridge. She has a passion for sports, loves the outdoors, and cannot wait to meet you all.

Ashlea Murphy

PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Ashlea has a Master's Degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Auckland, and a Bachelor Degree in Health, Sport, and Human Performance from Waikato University. Her background in human performance helps her when working with athletes, and she enjoys combining her knowledge from both degrees to help individuals recover from injury and return to their chosen sports and activities. Ashlea enjoys triathlon and has experience working with local cyclists. She is also working with the Cambridge Football Club Women's Team this year.

She enjoys working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds, and is excited to meet you all in the clinic and provide you with the support you need to recover and get back to doing what you love.

Toni Hutchings

MASSAGE THERAPIST L5

Toni is a proud Waikato girl and passionate Chiefs supporter/fangirl.

Studying Massage therapy at SIT in Invercargill and then going on to do post graduate Studies in Sport and Exercise at Otago University.

Fluent in Te reo Maori, and an advocate for natural and holistic healing and therapies. Toni is an intuitive therapist, wheather you want the best prep for a sports event or a quiet space to rejuvient.
