Body Performance Clinic team is led by highly qualified physiotherapists who offer a tailored approach to your recovery and well-being. Available to treat and aid recovery of your muscle injuries. Physiotherapy used proven techniques to help restore movement and function to anyone effected by an injury, disability or health condition.

Our Physiotherapists use their in-depth knowledge of how the body works, combined with hands on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat clients symptoms. They can also minimise the risk of many injuries and health conditions. 

Our Physiotherapists work in collaboration with our Massage Therapy team to ensure your treatment is tailored just for you.

 

Hamish Lockwood

PRINCIPAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST AND DIRECTOR

LEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST | HPSNZ PROVIDERS | SPORTS MEDIC

Hamish worked in the UK for many years and there he completed his Masters in Advanced Physiotherapy. Hamish has now returned to NZ and settled in the Waikato. A former semi-professional rugby player, Hamish has experience in dealing with sports injuries, both as a player and a physiotherapist, and has a keen interest in the management of knee injuries, lower back pain and tendon pain. Hamish has completed his acupuncture training and is a APPI qualified Pilates instructor.

Areas of Interest include: Sports injury treatment and rehabilitation, Knee injuries and rehabilitation, Low back pain management, Tendon pain management.

 

Craig Newlands

PRINCIPAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST AND DIRECTOR

LEAD PHYSIOTHERAPIST | HPSNZ PROVIDER | SPORTS MEDIC

Craig is a two-time Olympic (London 2012, Rio 2016) and Commonwealth Games (Gold Coast 2018) Physiotherapist and has travelled extensively to support athletes at many other international sporting competitions.

He spent 8 years as the lead physiotherapist for Rowing New Zealand and then split his time between Rowing New Zealand and the National Training Centre at the Avantidrome, leading the physiotherapy and massage therapy providers for the region. Craig continues to work with HPSNZ.

Craig has a Masters’ degree with a thesis on
low back pain, and has published and contributed to articles on this matter internationally.

 

Hannah Newlands

DIRECTOR

MASSAGE THERAPIST | HPSNZ PROVIDER | YOGA TEACHER

Hannah has qualifications in Massage Therapy L5(WINTEC) as well as a BCom & DipGrad (Accounting) and a BA (Community Family Studies) from Otago University.

Hannah’s client base ranges from professional athletes to people seeking treatment for headaches, neck pain or stress. Passionate about supporting new parents she volunteers her time and speaks at local ante natal classes.

In 2018 she completed her 200 hours Yoga Teaching Training and then a 50 hour Yin Yoga Training in 2019. In 2023 Hannah became an approved provider to HPSNZ.

LEAD PHYSIO-LED PILATES INSTRUCTOR | PINC & STEEL CERTIFIED | PELVIC HEALTH PHYSIOTHERAPIST

Megan has over 9 years’ experience working as a physiotherapist, both in private practice and rehabilitation, vocational rehab and pain management. She has a strong exercise prescription focus as well as manual therapy skills.

Megan enjoys utilising her Pilates knowledge to compliment her treatment plans and enjoys seeing her clients back to what is important for them, whether that be sporting related or everyday tasks.

Megan is passionate about her role in assisting those on their cancer journey through her PINC&STEEL work and leading the NEXT STEPS Programme.

 

Courtney Sprott

Physiotherapist | physio-led pilates instructor

Courtney graduated from AUT in 2018 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. She is passionate about treating musculoskeletal related injuries and uses manual therapy in conjunction with exercise rehabilitation to help clients achieve their goals.

Courtney is a Certified Clinical Matwork Pilates Instructor and teaches our Physiotherapy Led Pilates.

 

Lucarne Dolley

Physiotherapist | SPORTS MEDIC

Lucarne graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from WINTEC in 2022. During her study she did a placement with BPC and we saw first hand her potential so snapped her up. She brings experience in a High Performing environment with multiple national titles in equestrian.

Lucarne is looking forward to the opportunity to sports medic under the guidance of, Director, Craig Newlands for St Peters sports teams.

 

Sam Quintal

Sammy graduated with a Physiotherapy degree from WINTEC in 2022.

Sam is a former NZ Lacrose representative and will be supporting the Cambridge Football Premier Womens Team for 2023.

Toni is a proud Waikato girl and passionate Chiefs supporter/fangirl.

Studying Massage therapy at SIT in Invercargill and then going on to do post graduate Studies in Sport and Exercise at Otago University.

Fluent in Te reo Maori, and an advocate for natural and holistic healing and therapies. Toni is an intuitive therapist, wheather you want the best prep for a sports event or a quiet space to rejuvient.
